Textile Analysis

Fiber and weave analysis are important elements of textile conservation as they inform the conservator as to the chemical and structural composition of a textile, guiding them towards an appropriate treatment method.  Additionally, fiber and weave analysis can be used to identify an object as to its cultural origin or time period.  Below are some analysis projects that demonstrate the range of materials seen.
