Bio
I have had a passion for museum work for over 25 years and have had a variety of experiences within the profession, including museum education and collections management, before arriving in the discipline of textile conservation. During my time working in collections management, I worked directly with conservators on updating catalog records and rehousing objects, giving them more appropriate storage containers. As I worked with these conservators, I was intrigued about the practice of conservation and wanted to learn more, hoping to someday become a conservator myself. Meanwhile, I pursued academic enrichment in the form of chemistry and art classes as well as practicing my hobby of quilt making. Due to familial obligations, namely my husband’s military career and the addition of four children, it has taken me many years to achieve my goal of working in textile conservation, but my passion for the work has only increased with time and experience. I am excited to share my knowledge about the discipline with those around me.
